The pure, true, authentic moments are always going to be what I fall in love with from our time together. I will often include so many extra candids in your gallery simply because I can’t NOT give you the images I love. It’s a blessing and a curse. But I have been validated countless times when an image I almost didn’t include, actually ends up being the families favorite. And that exact thing happened with this session… and you know what, it’s always a good reminder for me.
My standards are pretty high. A lot of times if an image isn’t perfectly composed, my gut tells me to toss it. However, sometimes it’s the slight blur in the movement or the off-framing or the weird light that really makes the photograph something special. So now, when I get stuck on an image, I do an emotion check. Meaning, if it’s not technically up to my standards but it makes me feel something, it stays.
