[BROOKLYN] Where do I even begin with this family. I began documenting their journey when they were pregnant with their first baby girl, Brooklyn. Fitting, I know. And with each year, came more pregnancies and more babies and more shoots, and they’d casually mention a potential move to New York… and I’d get sad because I love them so very much and the thought of not being able to continue this journey with them broke my heart. Then one day I got the call, they were finally making the move but they didn’t want our relationship to end there either. In fact, they wanted to fly me out to document this huge new chapter in their story. Well, YAY and wow, what a feeling.
At this point, I did have a couple clients in NY but not enough to bring me out annually, and that was about to change. I put the word out, and not only did my previous NY clients book again, but a few other families I’d shot with in LA had (also) relocated and wanted to book, and two of them were in Boston. So, it turned into a whole east coast tour if you will, and frankly, I was pumped.
We planned for the week before the kids were starting school, which seemed like a brilliant idea but what we did not account for was how seriously hot and humid the city would be at the end of August. Holy hell it was intense… and sweaty, but we rallied and worked together and kept the kids engaged and happy… and then we sat in front of the AC unit and zoned out for an hour afterward. Ha!
More east coast sessions coming soon, but had to start with this one… dear to my heart as we continue the journey together.
