Roots.

I often think about how few pictures my parents have from their childhood, and how lucky our offspring will be to have all these memories to look back on, and share with their kids and so on and so forth. I think about how future generations will view the images, and wonder what they will think. Will they think they are super cool and vintage? Or will they laugh at how “old fashioned” we look? I am so curious.

I shot with these beauties when they were pregnant a few years back and it was so so lovely to see them again. One of my favorite parts of the day was meeting their son Lucas (!!), and seeing him warm up throughout the session. Sweet and shy at first, then he got curious and a little silly, and I’m pretty sure by the end we both knew we’d be buddies for life. Building stick forts, stacking rocks and playing monsters can really bond people! Also, a new horse friend named Sedona joined in at the end… what an unforgettable afternoon. So much love for this family.
