This family has been friends with my husband for many years. I’m still getting to know them but from the bits I’ve seen so far, I love… so I was stoked when they wanted to book a shoot. We were just cruisin’ through the session, having a great old time and just when I thought they couldn’t get any cooler, they bust out some serious heavy metal music for our impromptu dance party in the field. It certainly was not what I was expecting – def not the “norm” in my baby filled world, but I gotta say I loved it. It was so fun to see these guys rock out together. The kids were digging it, and in a way, it kind of put everyone at ease.
I love all my families, each of them unique in their own way… but I especially love when we can rip off the “polite” bandaid from the get go and really start getting to know each other. Because these are the moments I feel I will really start seeing your truth, and in turn, feel I am able to better capture who you really are. Don’t play Taylor Swift because that’s “what the kids are listening to these days”, play the music that puts a pep in your step so I can capture your authentic world.
