Sometimes, the best creative inspiration comes when you just go take a walk. Stop with the overproducing and overthinking and just take a walk. This time, we decided to take a walk in the DTLA Arts District. It never disappoints with colorful backdrops and gorgeous arts bursting around every corner.
I have been photographing this family for years and every time it’s a new adventure. I love them so much, and it’s safe to say they never disappoint with wardrobe. One of my favorite sessions to date was this one with them a couple years back… We went for an editorial vibe and with our collaborative efforts, well, we nailed it. I realized one of the reasons why I love them so, is that they always trust me. They trust my vision and my location suggestions. They go above and beyond to make it happen at the time I recommend (which trust me, I realize is easier when the babes are a little older and no longer napping). The perfect end result has so many factors, but a big one is light. As a natural light photographer, it is my mission to lead you to the dreamiest light possible. It’s in my blood. And, location actually matters very little if the sun falls on it the right way. I could go on and on, but I think that’s enough lecturing for today… I’m sure you get the point. Just promise me you’ll listen to your photographer when they make suggestions, okay? Okay!
